Privacy Notice
How VerbaCut handles account details, uploaded media, transcripts, project settings, support messages, and service diagnostics.
Launch configuration incomplete. The legal operator, address, contact, and effective date must be provided through server environment settings and reviewed by qualified counsel before this policy is treated as effective.
1. Scope and operator
This notice applies to VerbaCut websites, account surfaces, support, and caption-processing features operated by VerbaCut operator (legal name pending). VerbaCut can run locally or as a hosted service; this hosted deployment processes verified-account projects on its production infrastructure, except media or extracted audio sent to the configured AI transcription provider.
Operator address: Business address pending. Privacy contact: the Privacy category in the Support form.
2. Information the service may process
The information depends on which production features are enabled. VerbaCut should collect only what is needed for the requested workflow.
- Account details such as name, email address, verification state, authentication events, and settings.
- Videos, audio, filenames, transcripts, subtitle timing, edits, style settings, exports, and project metadata that you choose to process.
- Usage, device, browser, IP address, security, performance, error, and job-status records needed to operate and protect the service.
- Support, privacy, copyright, accessibility, or security reports and the information you include in them.
- Subscription, invoice, tax, refund, and payment-status information from the billing provider when paid service is enabled. VerbaCut should not receive full card numbers from hosted checkout.
3. Why information is used
Information may be used to provide transcription, editing, rendering, storage, account security, support, billing, fraud prevention, abuse response, legal compliance, and product reliability. Optional analytics or marketing must remain off until the required notice and consent controls are available.
4. AI processing and service providers
When you request AI transcription, VerbaCut sends media or extracted audio and related instructions to OpenAI through the API. API data is not used to train OpenAI models by default, but OpenAI's then-current API data controls and abuse-monitoring retention apply unless VerbaCut has approved zero-data-retention controls.
The current production subprocessor list is published on the Subprocessors page. VerbaCut does not sell personal information. Any disclosure to a service provider must be limited to operating the service under contract, or required by law, safety, or a valid legal request.
5. Retention and deletion
For hosted projects, source media, processing files, captions, project settings, and rendered exports are retained only as needed to provide the requested workflow, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Account and project deletion controls queue owned media and project records for deletion; encrypted backups age out on a separate retention schedule.
Local mode keeps local project media on the computer running the media service until it is removed there. Browser project state remains until the saved local project is cleared.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, or receive a portable copy. Use the Account page for available self-service controls or submit a Privacy request through Support. VerbaCut may need to verify the requester and may retain limited records where law requires it.
Cookie and local-storage choices are described on the Cookies page. Marketing communications, if introduced, must include an unsubscribe option.
7. Security, international processing, and children
Security measures and current limitations are described on the Security page. No system can promise absolute security.
Service providers may process data in countries different from yours. Before offering hosted service in a country that requires transfer safeguards, VerbaCut must disclose and implement the applicable mechanism.
VerbaCut accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Do not create an account for a child or upload content involving a minor without all required rights, authority, and safeguards.
